Built in 1915, formerly known as the Anna M. Joyce Elementary School, this historic school building is perfect for your next event. The 45,000 renovated schoolhouse features original hardwood floors, high ceilings, lots of natural light, and a tasteful mix of vintage and modern design, with flexible spaces that accommodate a wide-range of corporate and social events. Located in Pingree Park, minutes away from Historic Indian Village and West Village, Detroit Prep is close to many restaurants and cafes who would be eager to cater. We can’t wait to host you!

MULTIPURPOSE ROOM

Located on the main floor in the heart of the school, this open space with lots of natural light is perfect for any event.

Cafeteria & Kitchen

Located on our first floor, our bright and open cafeteria is adjacent to our warming kitchen and beautifully designed bathrooms.

Our upper level will be unused by our school community for the next year. Use this space for your next multi-use event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I live in the neighborhood and want to use your space for __________. Do you do any sort of neighbor discount?
A: YES! We love our neighbors and want to support the efforts of our local community. Anyone who lives in the 48214 discount is offered a 50% discount when renting our space!

Q: Are there any additional fees for staff or cleaning, or are those included in the listed pricing?
A: Yes! We charge $20 per hour (for every 75 people in attendance at your event) for a staff member to be on site. We also ask that you cover our cleaning service, which is an additional $20 per hour (amount will vary depending on the space(s) that you’ve reserved).

Q: What if I need more space than what you have listed? Isn’t your building three stories tall?

Q: Do you cater?
We don’t personally, but we’d love to recommend some neighborhood favorites. :)

Q: After I reserve my space, is there anything else I need to do before my event?
Please add us to your insurance! We want to make sure that this building (and you and all of your guests) stays safe and beautiful for years to come!
